Hi, I have recently bought a little corella, he is about 3 months old. In the past week whenever he sees me he will puff his feathers up sway from side to side while continually making noice what does this mean. He doesn't do it to anyone else in the house

he probably sees you as the "parent or caregiver" and is greeting you in anticipation of food and attention. lol ;D

So will he grow out of it, or how can I get him to stop as he can get very loud?

Hello & welcome, I have to wonder if he is fully weaned & isn't looking for a sooky feed. Like mentioned he classes you as his caregiver. Is he eating enough on his own? It could be a I' am hungry feed me cry. I would say if he has plenty to eat & is totally independent ignore him when does it if you keep giving him attention he will keep it up.

Hi, all he seems to want to eat is sunflower seeds and corn kernals. I have tried him on apple, celery, carrots, banana's etc but he won't have a bar of them. We have also tried dried biscuit but again he won't have it. Any suggestion would be great I wouldn't like to think that he is hungry.

When i wean my babies, doesn't matter if they are cockatiels or red tail blacks, they all get small parrot or peach face seed mix. Never large parrot seed as that only encourages them to eat the sunflower. I sprout a seed mix, they also have a fruit & veggie mix chopped into small cubes. You could also try him on some pellets. If he won't eat corn on the cob give frozen corn kernels & peas.
Also the placement of the feed dishes could be a problem. All my babies are fed on the floor of the cage. Once they are old enough to hold their food in their foot i will hang the bowls off the side of the cage.
Have a look in the Feeding section. You will find lots of useful hints & foods you could try him on.
Hope this is helpful.

I've found that sprouting seeds is a great option when you have a seed junkie on your hands! AJ was weaned onto dry seed and frozen peas & corn, but now I have her eating sprouted seeds, pellets and a huge variety of vegies (she's not so into fruits). Have you tried a kabob stick? I found it really effective, because AJ just saw it as a toy to chew on! Just keep offering! They come around eventually - just like human kids! lol Carls

We have successfully weaned him off his sunflower seeds and he is now eating fruit & vege's although he still thinks that he owns me!

Make sure he does get some seed though......I would use a small parrot seed not a big parrot seed and not wild bird seed. There is too much sorgum in the wild bird one and such wastage as most birds don't like it plus there is a lot of sunflower seeds. Cockatoo type birds are naturally seed/grain eaters as well as fruit and veges ...... just sunflower seeds can be unhealthy in large amounts.
Keep giving him a wide variety of fruit and veges too, sprouts etc etc.
