seen a pair of regent parrots just trying to work out (before i buy them), which sub species they would be? which one is most common,eastern or western? has anyone got any info on them? have been lookin on the net and cant seem to find too much about them. have been waiting awhile too get my hands on these gems.

I see you are in Victoria so you are far more likely to find the Eastern variety. Basically in mature birds the hens look very similar but the eastern cock is much more of a golden-yellow colour and the western cock is a green colour just a bit lighter than the hen.
I have seen mentioned that problems with Regents not breeding can be due to an eastern cock with a western hen - apparently the two breeding seasons are slightly different and they enter breeding cycle at differing times in the aviary.
