We lost our little Muffin on 23/3/10 in Ashby WA. He flew out of the laundry door when my daughter came in to answer the phone. He is very tame and has left a little chick at home which mum is doing her best to raise him on her own. We are all devastated. Every time I talk about him I cry. If you live in the northern suburbs please keep your eyes open for me Attachments:

I hope you find him. Have you put flyers around, he might have landed on someones aviary looking for food.

We put notices around and in all the vets, put an advert on 98.5, posted on a couple of internet sites, advert in the paper and friends at work have taken flyers. I've spread this out over last 10 days so his name keeps coming up everywhere. We have had 3 responses and not one was our little boy but we have ended up with someone elses lost male. He was quite snuffly and a watery eye so vet gave him a shot of antibiotics and vitamins. We've isolated him from our other birds and hope it's not pssitacosis. He has perked up condsiderably now. I will take him back for a check up this week. I have put adverts out for him too. I couldn't believe how many lost cockatiels there are. We keep hoping

I must add though.........when I put flyers out I actually walk the streets putting out 170 flyers last year just before xmas when 2 of my just weaned eclectus males got out of their cage while on our back verandah......I got one back 30 mins later and got the other one back 24 hours later.......literally every one in our suburb and then some had a flyer and someone rang me to tell me my bird was in their tree........

My next door neighbour's tiel got out just a few months after he caught him hanging around my aviary. It's amazing how many notices you see for escaped ones, they must be escape mercants.

The only birds I have not been successful in getting back have been the cockatiels. They just tend to be able to fly even with very short clipped wings and they are so small the average person can afford a cage to put them in whereas the bigger birds are not quite as easy to house.

He's such a friendly little bird, I can only hope that he is safe in someone else's care as the alternative does't bear thinking about
