Hi all, remember the little girl eckie that had half of her bottom mandible missing well we have found her a forever home, we hope. Took her down to meet my local Vet Wade today & he would love to have her although he had to OK it with his wife. I am sure it will be fine. What a perfect home for her. Wade mentioned that she may even live at the Surgery so she will have lots of company all day with plenty of handling. Plus she will have her beak trimmed when its needed. I am just so happy for her as she has turned out to be such a snuggle bug. She even liked Wade Robyn.

That is lovely. I just adore a happy ending! Sounds like she will be loved unconditionally. That is so hard to find these days.

Congratulations on finding a good home for her, sounds like she will be well looked after. Ellen I noticed on Petlink that you are selling some of your birds, are you downsizing or making room for some more? Lol.

Congratulations on finding a good home for her, sounds like she will be well looked after. Ellen I noticed on Petlink that you are selling some of your birds, are you downsizing or making room for some more? Lol. We have had a fairly good breeding season with our finches Laraine and Mick has decided that we are going to cut down on some of the bigger parrots and concentrate more on the finches. We need some space to put them all. Also, we are finding it so hard to find people that want to come and stay and feed and look after our birds whilst we are away. The parrots take up a lot more time and they are a lot more work than the finches - so some of the bigger parrots have to go. Much to my disgust though, I love them. Have your heard any more Robyn?

No not yet Ellen, but i have a good feeling about him taking her. I did tell Wade to take his time thinking about it & i am sure that's what he is doing.
In the mean time i have to figure out the best diet for her other than the formula. She has tried pellets & seems to have her head in the bowl of fruit & veg mix. But still not convinced she is actually eating it or playing.
Will let you know tho.

At least she is trying and as you say if you keep a close eye on her and see if she is eating. I would be holding food back and weighing her; and then give her food and weigh her again just to see if there is any weight difference. It sounds like they will love her and I am sure if they are at all concerned they would contact you.

Well i dropped the little Princess off to Wade yesterday afternoon. Boy did i have mixed emotions. I think they loved her already. Wade was so excited. All the girls at the surgery didn't care if they had to crop feed her for the rest of her life. No need to worry she has been eating pellets but still wants the formula of an evening.
All is well that ends well.

That is extremely good Robyn...........I am confident though that her beak will grow back..........and she is now in the best possible hands anyway...........so it is a win win situation for her ;D
