Hello everyone.
Just want to hear your opinions on what I feed my two gcc.
Vetafarm maintenance pellets small parrot seed mix with no cracked corn, Milo or sunflower seeds. Fresh fruit and vegetables everyday. Seeds and nut mix for treats Boiled egg and rice but they don't like them much.
Do you think the maintenance pellets or the south american pellets are better?

Hi Rylie,
I breed GC Conures. They get pretty much what you feed your birds. Mine get a small parrot mix Sunflower and all, fruit & veg, i also soak & sprout a seed mix for them especially when they are breeding. I give pellets sometimes but find they are terrible at dunking them in the water to the point they fill the water dish with them. So whether they actually eat them or not is a big ?. They also enjoy nuts & birds eye chilies.

Thanks for the info Robyn. Mine like their pellets, I do give them sunflower seeds separetely as treats but if I have them in their bowl they would just eat all of them first and I don't want them to be fat. I used to sprout seeds for my budgies I will do it for my conures now.
Any opinions on whether the maintenance pellets or south American are better for them?

I have used the South American as well as the Nutriblend. Whether one is better than the other i am not sure. As i only use them as a treat. I still believe a fresh diet has to be better than a bland pellet. But that is just my thoughts.

My baby ollie eats Vetafarm South American pellets, we only own South american birds, so our quaker and sun conure gets it too, aswell as a mix of (all cubed) apple, eggplant, sprouted sunflower seeds, celery, orange, beans, grapes and frozen mix of corn peas potatoes and carrots (:

Thanks for your opinions, i am going to get a small bag of the south american pellets and try them out, if they don't like them then i will stick to the maintenance pellets.
Your ollie is beautiful by the way asharee.
