Big Update

Hey guys

I have not been as honest as i shoudl have been in a very long time i have updated a lot starting with Ace
Ace was a presnt to me from my dad ok there is a story to it
One day we were standing in the bird shop and there was a pair of sun conures that i want but they were 1200 the pair dad bet me that if i won gold in melbourne at nationals for volleyball that he would buy me the pair, so the months past and we went to melbourne and played a week solid of volleyball and at the end of the week we wont the semi's , won the finals and tghen went on to win gold in our division and bought home gold. so i arrived home saturday morning andw e went to the brid shop that afternoon and say some baby galahs and i turned around and said i want the baby galah and full cage setup, BUT geoff didnt have any baby galahs ready to sell at the time so i bought one of the babies he had been handrearing to finish off for my self

so that is how i got ace
ACe also is one of the 3 galahs that will feature in the 6 part TV series of Tim Wintons Cloud Street that should be on tv next year

then about a month after ace arrived dad emailed me an add that was on his work computer about 2 galahs and a big cage for free soo thats when Billy and Scratch arrived here

Cocky boy is an 8 yr old galah that i was given from a good friend as a partner for scratch as it turned out the 2 i got for free were both hens so now cocky boy and scratch are down the back in the aviary and hopefully going to produce some babies later this year

Ive cureently taken more of a turn breeding the more expensive and rarer peachface lovebirds only have 5 pairs at the moment but in the process of freighting some orangeface opalines and normal orangeface peachfaces over from Penrith
Also Last weekend i bought a new pair of tiels and i swapped 3 green pied peachies for a new opaline peachie

And today i bought a lovely little pair of canaries
about 2 months a go i also bought some baby budgies to handrear out of the paper which i stil have 2 of becasue there new family is away at the moment and they will be ready to go when they get home

i think thats about it

so
4 galahs
11 peachies (soon to be more)

2 canaries

OMG Lewis.........when you sin you do it big time don't you ;D ;D and you have a great dad too ;D

My daughter Rhianna played state and national level volleyball in the honours division (the highest division) and they won gold at the nationals in Melbourne when she was in grade 9 (as juniors) and then again when she was in grade 11 or 12 (I can't remember now which year exactly) as a senior. She travelled to Bendigo as part of the National squad (she played both schools cup and non schools) to train for the national team (non schools cup) that was always straight after the schools cup nationals in Melbourne and she went to Canberra and I think she trained at the AIS too and she went to Adelaide also and we travelled all over Qld with her. They won the states every year and most times if they didn't win Gold at the nationals they got silver.

I know how hard it is to get there..........so Lewis well done ;D (I also know how expensive it can be too)

so how come you won the nationals at this time of year??? Normally they are in December in Melbourne and the states are around October. Is it schools cup?? Or was this last Dec?? I don't know if there are records kept.......I would be assuming there is but my daughter belonged to the Gladstone State High School (Sharks) team. Volleyball school of excellence is actually what it was called and they trained every morning from 6.30 to 8am and 4 afternoons a week after school...........it was serious stuff back then. I don't think the SOE train as hard now.

oh ok ............ well Lewis that was something worth bragging about.......trust me "everyone" here who has been here for probably at least 5 years would remember me "bragging" about Rhianna and her volleyball team ;D

Oh and as I said before you have an awesome dad for allowing you to have ALL those birdies ;D

Its also nice to see parents get behind their kids in what ever interests them.

I forgot to mention im getting all new aviarys and selling the old ones and on the 30th i get my baby rainbow lorriekeet to handrear

CANT WAIT for the new Aviarys guess what that means I GET MORE BIRDIESSSSSSS
i really want to get a pair of naso red tails but noooooo mum wont let me MEANY isnt she

Cool Lewis. New Aviaries. But sorry i have to agree with your Mum at this point in time. Learn everything you can with what you have now & when you are older & maybe have more time then get your dream birds.
But i have to say the Naso's are real cute & so are the Glossies.

Lewis can i just say you are still young & need to have a life to. Don't tie yourself down just yet you have plenty of time.

That was super reading Lewis, it sounds like you are a champion on and off the volleyball court.
I love volleyball - it is an awesome sport, my husband and I played indoor volleyball for many years. That is one of the disadvantages of living so far out of town, we don't get to play our favourite sport anymore.

I walked away with a huge grin on my face after reading this - thanks again.
