Yes that is right the two sunnies that came in from another members decided that the avairy that I put them in was perfect to breed in and did. I did not hold much hope of the eggs being fertile or that with the cold weather we would get anything from them but today I found two very well fed bubs in the nest and two parents happy for me to have a look! Let home them can keep going the way they are going!

I saw a pair of Sunnies for sale in the new pet shop on Friday and they were asking $800 a pair??? I think that is what it was. But OMG aren't they just stunning in colours??? Beautiful.

Yeah my guys are great. I check the box when I get a chance and both parents expect head scratches and move to let me look. There is a third egg but not sure it is going to hatch but both of the bubs look in good condition and both parents are also holding their weight well so hopefully I can have some babies to HR soon. Really excited, so did not expect this!

As some may know the third egg hatched and they are doing great. It was so cute last night I was outside letting the dogs dotheir business before going to bed and I could hear baby sunny screams and then I could hear Myles getting out of the nest box and the hunting around so I turned on the outside light and went to see what was going on. Yeah he was hunting around the seed dish for the sun flower seeds and eating away while mum was feeding them in the box I would say he was getting the next meal ready. I quick head scratch for both and a peek at the babies and everyone settled for the night.
It's strange when I had them inside in a cage they where really cage agressive and defensive towards me. However they have no cage agression in the avairy and are more tame now then they where inside. It's nice as I struggled with the decision to put them outside but I think they are 100 times happier now.

Awwww....congrats on the Sun bubbies.
Hoping my pair will get their act together this season and have fertile eggs. Last 2 seasons were duds.

Well it has taken me a while to get back here but really upset. Checked the bubs on Friday night and they where fine, when out on Saturday morning around 11am to pull them and start HRing them and discovered them all dead Went to my vet with them and the mother, she can find nothing wrong, in fact they where in good condition, the only thing we can think of is that Mum got off the nest sometime during the night and never got back on and they froze, wish I had pulled them friday night but was waiting for the weekend. So mad at myself

aww I'm so sorry ((hugs)) No need to blame it on yourself, these things can happen and it is an awful feeling but you have to remember none of it was your fault. All the best, Ebony.

oh AV that is sad. I lost an ekkie bub in sort of similar circumstances. He was a week younger than the older one and I could see he was possibly going to get squashed. So I decided to remove one of them on the Friday night (the next night ...... to give me the weekend to get him adjusted to me and formula before having to take him to work with me on the Monday).......he was dead the next the day........he got squashed. I was pretty upset with myself too.
