We went to a working cattle dog trial yesterday and I bought home this


I can't believe I did it. .......... I had no intention of getting another dog yet......but had been considering what my next dog would be. I want a working dog from working lines.......I was considering a working BC or a kelpie.......or a cross BC (border collie) Kelpie. Her parents are both working dogs ...... her mum is border collie cross kelpie and her dad is pure border collie........so I got what I wanted for nothing ;D

Her name now is Kalli (I was going to call her Kelly.......but decided I like Kel or Kal......and now she is will be Kalli or Kal for short). I need a short name to call her when doing a trial.........I am hoping because she is from working dogs she will have more drive than Mysta (Mysta is from show lines)

I was going to the WC and heard them announcing the sponcers etc then lastly they added "and there is one more pup to give away"...........the rest is history ;D

I normally have so much self control............I had a very weak moment. lol but as I told Stephen...........I was going to pay around $1000 for a working dog...........look she was a bargain ;D ;D ;D he just smiled and shook his head

So today she had what I believe to be her first bath and I wormed her and bought her a pretty little collar and a check chain (yes I use them for training). I said to Stephen today if she works out to be what I am looking for and is a good working dog (for agility and obedience trials) her collar and lead will become very blingy and pretty ;D she will be a little girly lol

The guy thought she was around 4 months old.........but I think she might be lucky if she is 3 months old. I got Mysta at 10 weeks and she isn't much bigger than he was (he was a fluffy border collie pup though )

This is her with Summa with my Staffy and Summa is not a big staffy.

Tracey i went to a farm last week on a bus tour with Mum & saw some dogs like your puppy round up some ducks. They were actually used for rounding up the cattle.

Anyway i can't be to hard on you Trace as i also have a super confession but will start my own tread.

I am not an impulse buyer lol ;D ;D she was "free" ;D ;D

I usually am very very good when confronted with temptation............but in this case she is the breeding I wanted for the competitions I do and was looking at paying around $1000 for a pup..........obviously this pup is probably not the "quality" of the $1000 pup........but I am hoping that with training she will have the drive the working dogs have.

Anyway I think hubby is just pleased that I am now motivated to get back into the comps again.

oh and yesterday I washed and wormed her and put a flea collar on her. Today I took her to the vet for her first needle and the vet agreed with me.........she checked her teeth and said "she doesn't have the teeth of a 4 month old pup" she thought she was around 3 months also.

Oh the joys of puppyhood are ahead of me now..........bracing myself ;D

Laraine maybe she will round up my chooks lol no I am hoping to put her through some agility and obedience trials and hoping because she is from "working" lines she will have a bit more "drive" in her.
