It's not a bird......(as much as I would love to get more birds! I don't have room, though!) It's not a dog.....got 2 already, and they are handful enough! Not a cat - don't like cats. ;D So what is left, you ask? ?? FISHIES!!!!!! LMAO I have a big tank with 3 fantail goldfish in it, and another small tank with a siamese fighting fish. I got bored one day.....decided to 'redecorate' the big tank. LOL So I got golden sucking catfish, guppies, platys and black widow tetras for the big tank. And some neon tetras for the small tank. ;D There are also 2 little native fish in the big tank that have been in there for a while. hehehe And yes, my fantails are just fine with the other fish! They actually like the water a little warmer. See......fishies are addictive, too!

One of my platy's is pregnant!!!!!! OMG! I've never dealt with a pregnant fish before! LOL
Now I just have to decide whether I want to put her in the breeding trap, another smaller tank, or let things be and hope for the best for the fry! EEK!
Oh, got myself another betta - my other boy died the other day. I'd had him for over 3 years, which is pretty good for a betta. Still sad, tho!

apparently the siamese fighters (betta) live for around 3 to 5 years. Mine seem to live till around the 3 year mark........if I got them when they are young that is ........ they could be older than 3.
With the preggy fish you could just put a heap of ........ is it oxygen grass??? Weed?? In one area of the tank and hopefully the baby fish will have somewhere to hide.

Carls I used to breed guppies platys and mollies the best bet is to geta floating tank which is a plastic tank in that suction cups to the side of ythe tank it has a V shape that sits in it and the bottom of the V shape there is a slit this keeps the babies away from the mother so she cant eat them, the mother will eat them and when babies are born they drop to the bottom

Thanks Lewis! I have one of those plastic tanks with the V shape insert - would it stress the mother out too much, though? Its so little! Tracey, I have a heap of both plastic and live plants in the tank, along with rocks and hollow logs. Heaps of spots for fishies to hide! The cat fish are really shy, and hide amongst all that all the time.

I've got one of the breeding traps also, maybe wait until she is just about ready to have them so she won't be in there too long and then take her straight out after. Do you have the live fry food. Good luck with them.
