Had a new young couple move in a few months ago to the area and had noticed he was buiolding an enclosure in the back yard. I was told that they had a cat that was expensive and thought nothing of it. Then I heard what sounded like a Corella or Black Too as it called out when a flock would pass over. Anyway yeasterday I was getting some leaves for Bob to eat and the wife came out to clean a T stand, so I thought i'd ask what they have ( they are about 5 houses away from mine ). She said of yeah we have a Macaw!!!
My jaw nearly dropped, I said thats great and she said come back when her hubby gets back and he will show you the bird. So of course I did and 5 min later I had a yound blue and gold on my shoulder and looking around my head to get my attention. I have never had contact with these magnificent birds before but what a treat!!!!

You been to Bird World EB..... One of my most favorite places. I would go every weekend just to watch the Macaw's fly around. But of course hubby won't let me.
A lady i know in our bird club has a young B&G she bought lasts November. He is just gorgeous.
I know what you mean Dave to be up close & personal with one of those magnificent birds.

Yes Bird World use to have a Macaw a while ago, from what I understand it was stolen as were quite a few several years back. Shame. Doubt if they will ever get any more and for the best!

Not that Bird World Dave. We have one up North in the Cairns area. Its a bird park & they don't sell to the public either. They have a pair of B&G and a pair Of Scarlets. Its very well kept as well.

Wow that is awesome. The closest I have come to a macaw is at a friends place (well more like an aquaintance through dog obedience trials). She has a pair in her aviary and the male is just the sweetest thing.

LOL not quite. Im in Hamersley which is NOR. North, South, Harrisdale, Hammersly, sounds similar just opposite ends of the city, not far really nothing is too far in Perth!!!! Had a nice Kite fly over Bobs cage today, the crows chased it away before Bob noticed.
