new pink & grey

Hi all
I have just joined up as I was given a female pink and grey galah last week. Her name is Jackie. She is about 5 years old and is very sweet. I have fallen in love with her! Her previous owner just didn't have the time for her. She has always been in a cage about a metre square and pretty boring. I have ordered her an aviary that's 2 x 2 metres. She has made friends with me and will always come straight up to the wire and hop on my fingers or my hand when I put my arm in. She is very gentle and doesn't mind a scratch. I would love to be able to take her out and bring her inside ( she has always been outside but her owner said she did bring her inside when she was younger . I would like any advice on making the transition to her aviary and introducing her to playing inside the house with me. I feel so sorry for her in that small cage !

It sounds like you have a lovely girl already.......great foundations to work with already. You could use the aviary as an outdoor flight area for her during the day and bring her inside later in the day or when you are home etc......

Can she fly?? If so then she could be inside with you anyway and still have some exercise by being able to fly around inside the house. I have playstations in the lounge room and kitchen and my pet male eclectus flies around and lands on them or his cage or Snowy's cage or he lands on someone lol

Hello and welcome, your girl sounds lovely..do bring her inside when you're home, she's really happy to come to you so she sounds like she's seeking company. You'll both have fun.
