quails with other birds

i was just wondering if any one knew some birds to put in an aviary with quails that get along with them. I wanted small birds that will stay up top mostly like finches and doves. please tell me if you have any ideas.

Any finches would be OK, as well as small doves such as Diamond and Peaceful Doves. Also Neophema parrots such as Turquoisine, Elegants and Bourkes, as well as Cockatiels.

Definately not budgies or lovebirds. Also not any Asiatic species, or Red Rumps, Mulgas, or Rosellas.

I have 2 pair of small quail with a pair of lovebirds. I don't seem to have any problems. What problems do you think I could expect.

I know of instances where lovebirds have killed quail when sharing an aviary, particularly if the lovebirds are breeding. It won't happen with all lovebirds, but it can happen.

thanks everyone i have a pair of diamond doves at the moment so it sounds like thats all good then and they will get along. thanks for your replys

I know of quite a few people that have had no problems keeping quails with budgies. Anyway I guess its best to be safe.

I think you should try Zebra Finches quailer. They are very entertainning. They should go ok with the doves. I think any other species of finch would be ok besides Javas.
