Just a quick line to say Hi, and warn everyone here, I'm a newbie to Rainbow Lorikeets, and I find myself in the position of having one placed in my care tonight, a few hours ago.
It was rescued from a cat in my brothers back garden, and he isn't really a birdy sort of person, so the mug here got the pleasure of bringing the little guy home. He is distressed, of course, but also has a bit of blood around the top of his beak.
I've left him in a cage in a quiet dark room with a bowl of water and piece of banana cause it's soft for him to nibble at.
Is there anything else I can do for him to help? I hope so much he'll be ok, blessed cats, they have a lot to answer for, even though I have three of my own, but they're generally kept indoors especially at night.
ANY help, advice or tips would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks all.

UPDATE......................... sorry, my initial hello was a bit pre-emptive, the little guy passed away tonight since coming home with me. So sad, he was a cute little thing. RIP little one, you never even got a name. Goodnight, sleep tight.

oh that is very sad but sort of expected.

Hi Brianne, sorry the little rainbow didn't make it. At least you gave his last few hours in a safe warm place.
