Hi all,
I want to get a harness for my tame cockatiel, so I can take him outside.
Does anyone know what pet shops sell them in the sydney area?

most pet shops sell them just make sure it is not the type to be shaped like a figure of 8 around the bird......it is hard to explain but the first harness i ever bought was a figure of 8 shape when on the bird then the lead was attached to that.....it actually tightened around the birds neck and obviously freaked the bird and me out. I actually bought a harness next time that has clips on it so it cannot tighten.

I would highly recommend an 'Aviator' harness. The Feather Tethers are rubbish and should be taken off the market. www.theparrotuniversity.com/aviator_harness.phpI ordered mine from that site. They offer free shipping worldwide and I received my harness in about 5 days. Comes with an informative DVD and is easy to use.

I just recently bought an aviator harness on the internet costing $14.95 about $18.00 with postage. I tried it on three my five birds, and got myself bitten a treat by one and the others fussed and tried everything to remove it,also the leash coupling is difficult to attach so I wouldn't reccomend it. If you still want to try it I'll let you have mine
