G'day,
Three weeks ago I became one of the "parents" of two of the cutest budgie boys, Curly and Mo, who were purchased from a local registered breeder, so I'm both a newbie to this forum, and a newbie to budgie "parenthood" too.
The "boys" have settled in to their new home and their new environment really well, and they're even eating fruit and vegetables.
We live in Hervey Bay, Queensland, which is about a three hour drive north of Brisbane...are there any other Queenslanders here?
I'm also a member of "Talk Budgies", which I found and joined just prior to "adopting" Curly and Mo, and asked a lot of questions there, and received lits of good advice, which I'm sure would be similar to here.
I found your forum as someone on Talk Budgies posted a link there.
Cheers,
John.

Hi and welcome.
I have been to 'The Bay' a few times but Bundy was where I mainly visited when I lived in Qld. Love the beaches back home.
Cute names for your 'boys'. Are they tame?

Welcome and yes there are a few of us "QUEENSLANDERS" ;D here ;D I have been to Hervey Bay a few times. My hubby has family who live in Maryborough and we went to an ADAA dog trial at Burrum Heads a couple of years ago. I live about 4 hours north of you.

Thanks for the welcomes...they're greatly appreciated.
No, the boys aren't tame yet, they're only young, but I'm working on it.
Cheers,
John.

G'day Meandem, Thanks for the welcome, and it's good to know that there are lots of other Queenslanders here...of course they're good people. You asked for photos, so here are a couple...Curly is on on the left. And here's one of their cage set up, which has slighltly changed since this photo was taken. Cheers, John.

Thank you both for your kind words.
The boys have settled in so well, and I just love spending time with them.
Curly is the leader, and Mo mimics what Curly does.
They both have such wonderful personalities, and get up to the funniest antics.
I didn't realise that being a budgie parent could be so much fun, and now kick myself for not doing it ages ago.
Cheers,
John.

I really like Curly, beautiful. I have a little male bush budgie who used to mimic the green cheek conure. I like the budgies chatter, but after owning a few larger birds, you really need to turn the hearing aid up to hear them. lol
