How much would be the average price for a breeding pair of normal Kakarikis please ? Are their many breeders out there ?

Last pair I bought I paid $80 for them. That was about 2 years ago. There are heaps of breeders of them, unfortunately you have to be lucky to find one as they tend to sell by word of mouth. I had a great dealer of them but lost her number

Very hard to find birds in Dubbo , Ive asked the local avi club for membership and breeders list a couple of times with no action , just leaves the one pet shop . Makes it hard to find birds you want .

Makes it hard to find birds you want . Why not join the local club - that will allow you to meet other bird fans and find out who keeps what birds? There is also a club in Orange that runs a big sale each March - one of the bigger ones around so - that may be a source of kakarikis cheers Mike

I talk to the Orange club people when Im on the look out , great bunch of people should join shouldnt I .....Ive asked the Dubbo mob 3 times and still no forms in the mail actually joined at the local bird show last year and never once got a newsletter just a receipt to say id paid . They obviously dont want new people to join which is a shame as it does nothing to promote breeders or encourage fanciers in the area.

Sounds like they have their own little clique. That is why I stopped going to budgie club meetings and eventually dropped out of bird forums.

yeah Karen some clubs are really bad.....I dropped out of the local dog obedience club because it was getting nasty and I was taking resue remedy before meetings just so I wouldn't stress when one person in particular would rant at people.....anyone that she decided she didn't like on that day.

I once was into showing dogs , never met so many horrible people in my life ...also met some lovely people managed to get a couple of dogs to champion but just wasnt tough enough to deal with the clickiness . Last straw was a judge pinching my boys testicle on purpose to make him table shy so he wouldnt stand properly for judging ...do what you want to me but dont hurt my dogs walked out of the ring and never went back

yeah I don't like the show ring side of dogs.......I LOVE the obedience and agility side of the dogs sport but I just can't handle how some people think they are "god" and will rip into anyone who looks sideways at them. Too stressful and that was only at club level not in the field.

Obedience is awesome and it seems to be more about the dogs than the people unlike the show ring ... saying that though you would probably get horrible people in obedience as well , competition brings out the worst in some people.

yes competition does bring out the worst and with agility and obedience it all about you working with your dog as a team not about how "beautiful" your dog is
