Just wondering what hand rearing formula people use ? You wouldn't believe the trouble I have getting formula here in Dubbo . Does anyone make their own at home , Ive been thinking of this since neo care went from $19 to $ 26 in a week . Thanx

I get neo care from the local bird club (which I am a member) for $18 per kilo. I used to use Roudybush years ago then swapped over to Kaytee when I got Takoda and finished raising him then I couldn't always get Kaytee so I would swap back to Roudy bush and then I couldn't get Roudybush and had to swap back to Kaytee.......now there is no Kaytee anymore and I get neo care now lol.
Have you tried the local bird club??? Vets?? or even online?? I actually got Roudybush in 4 or 5 kg bags sent to me a couple of times from Mike (avinet) but now he has retired from his business. But I also found one of the direct vets online sold it in large bags too and it worked out pretty cheap even with postage and I would take a small amount out and put it in a container in my upstairs freezer and use it as needed but keep the rest in my freezer downstairs and just fill the container up when needed. It worked out cheaper for me this way (but I had a couple of babies to feed sometimes).

What species are you feeding Deb?
I will PM you the recipe i used to use when I was breeding the cockatiels.
Forgot to mention you have to have a kitchen wizz so you can crush to a powder.
