I can't believe it was only 3 weeks ago I posted about my little green cheek seeming to prefer my husband. She has changed so much in that time and all the wise advice I received here was spot on. She loves me to bits, still enjoys a bit of male company, but I'm her girl and she's mine.
We now have a budgie as well. He appeared on our verandah and we haven't been able to find his owners. My green cheek and the budgie seem to get on and I think it's a good thing for her. Instead of her just wanting me all the time (I know I know, last time I was complaining about her not wanting me!!) she's now happy to stay on her play area doing bird stuff with Bilbo the budgie for a while.
While I'm talking birds, for a while now we've had a king parrot visiting us occasionally for a bit of seed on our verandah. Today he flew into our loungeroom, sat on the lampshade and then flew over and sat on top of our bookshelf looking at me and our birds, then flew out. He's so at home in a house I think he must have been a companion bird who's now happily living in the wild. He has a partner but she's very timid, she rarely even comes down to the verandah rail.

We get king parrots on our verandah's and sometimes on my aviaries.........they do seem to be rather quiet birds........but "ours" don't make themselves at home in our house lol ;D
