Love your babies apache the colours are so bright. Love the name Sunny for the yellow and what about Chip for the blue, I sold a blue ringneck a few years ago and the owners called him Chip (Blue Chip) I thought that was a really cute name.

Your new birds are indeed very beautifull,Apache. Recently I minded a friends collection of birds, while they went on holidays. I saw the babt Alexandrine at two weeks and then at four weeks. There was a huge difference in size. from Robert and Angel

thanks guys they are soo cute........ i have not felt like this about any of my birds before.... they are such fun to have! hey i have read all the threads in here in the ringneck section ( and my god have i learnt a lot! ) and i read that sometimes you can tell what colour and sex the baby's would be by the colour its parents were or something like that..... anyways the blue was hatched on 28/8/07 and its parents were a grey/cin cock and a green hen and the yellow was hatched on 8/9/07 and its parents were a green/lutino cock and a lutino (yellow) hen does this make sense to anyone?

Sometimes you can but not your parent pairings. The first pair grey/cin cock carries the blue gene as well and the green/blue hen would have tc be split blue to produce a blue baby, so both parents carry the blue gene so the baby blue will be either male or female. The same for the Lutino both parents carry lutino so the baby would be either male or female.

Thats ok you are not the only one who hates the thought of taking a small amount of blood, I have done it many times now but I do remember the first time I was a bit scared.

^ i rang the petstore to make sure the person was there to do it and of course she wasnt darn it.... my local vet can do it as he is an avian vet but he only does it surgically and i dont like the sound of that... i will try again with the petstore tomorrow.. the owner does it but he is in hospital untill the the 22nd.... there i one other girl that works there that does it and im not sure what day she works as when i rang back they didnt know who i spoke too.... bugger.... this is harder than i first thought... my babies still have no names i kinda want to know what sex they are before i name them... hey is there anyone that could recommended any particular type of food? im getting low on the stuff the lady gave me when i got the birds and i should save some to mix with new stuff.. but im a little unsure on what is the best for them... they are eating vegetables and fruit well... but they wont take it from my hand yet.. that will come im sure...

I use a small parrot mix of seeds I buy from the local feed barn and then I add stuff like, shredded coconut, pepitos, slivers of almonds etc etc. Oh and rolled oats too. Then they get their fruit and veges too.
