Both pairs of my canaries have got babies now...not bad considering 1 pr were only introduced to each other about 4 weeks ago.
Other pair are rescue birds that have already raised a "foster" egg,she had 4 of her own eggs that she managed to hatch but all died probably from the "foster" chick being about 5 days older that the hatchlings and squashing them (mind the "foster" baby is stunning). They are now hatching their 2nd clutch of 4 eggs (1 out so far).

I don't see why they can't be handraised as I have heard of people handraising finches...........I also tried to handraise wild baby finches. One survived for almost two weeks.............but did die Good luck and keep us posted. Oh and I know others will come and give their advise too later.

go into reply or new thread and then click on browse button...........find your pics and then click on it, then click on the host button under the browse button. Then image shack should come up and I click on the second link above the picture you want and then highlight that link then right click on it and ctl and v at the same time to paste it back on this board.
If you store your pics on photobucket (i have some stored there) you just find the pic you want from photobucket and highlight the IMG link then right click etc and press ctrl and v at the same time to paste here.
Good luck
