Hi guys, Sorry for not introducing myself - I'm afraid that I am one of these 'lurkers', and I have been 'lurking' for so long I feel like I know you all so well I share my house with a lovely Alexandrine called...'Alex' (I know, its a very original name). Over the years I have cared for many different species of birds, but I think Alexandrines are my favorite. They are so loyal and gentle - I love them. I have really enjoyed 'listening' in on all the advice and talk from you all over the last few months - it really is a friendly forum. I am really going to enjoy actually posting - so much so that you probably won't be able to get rid of me Cheers, Bec

Thanks guys for the welcomes....(and no Summit, at the risk of starting another war, I'm definitely a Queenslander ). I have had my alexandrine for nearly 14 years now...(any ideas anyone as to how long they live for? I have heard everything from 20 years to about 50 years). I'll have to sort out some photo's to show you all. He is just beautiful. (I feel like a proud mum here ). However, I love anything to do with birds, whether they be parrots, finches, pet birds, or an aviary full of birds...they are all just beautiful to watch. I'll be attending the Parrots convention in Brisbane next month, so I'll look forward to seeing those of you that will be there. It should be lots of fun! Cheers, Bec

Welcome! Woo Queenslander! I also have an Alexandrine, she's only 7 months old though. Is your boy looking for a gf? Maybe we can have an arranged marriage with a distance relationship lol! Look forward to seeing pics of Alex.

Hi guys, Okay...I have a confession to make. Not only have I been 'lurking' for soooooo long, but I also share my house with a total of 8 Alexandrines, 1 Plum Head Parrot, one dog, and currently one fish. Another confession: I am also Mike's (avinet) daughter. Imagine my surprise when I realised that he was here as well (He doesn't know yet, so it will probably be a bit of a surprise to him - although I think he is a bit suspicious Anyway, you've heard all my confessions now. Hope you'll forgive me. It is great to find people just like me who could talk birds all day. And there is alway something to learn which is fabulous! Cheers, Bec
