My Lutino Red Rump has finally laid an egg. She has been going into the box for about a month. I thought she might have as last night she was in the box and not sitting in the opening. Its been a few years since I have had baby red rumps, then the only ones that bred were my normals.
The male is a green Opaline. Can anyone give me an idea of what I will get - all greens or maybe a Lutino?

My hen has been sitting on three eggs for about a week now Laraine, it looks like it is going to be a good breeding season at last, my Princess Parrot is sitting on eggs again I don't know how many yet but at least she is incubating them, fingers crossed she will give me babies this time.

Hi John, haven't seen you for a while. Baby Princesses will be very exciting. At least I have Red Rump eggs, haven't had them for quite a while. Fingers crossed for a good season for both of us. Do you still have all your budgies?

Do you still have all your budgies? Hi Laraine, Yes I still have all my budgies, I recently got a whole lot of new ones just to freshen up my stock, I have a lot of big birds at the moment so I am looking forward to a few nice birds coming up. Hi John
Have you separated your Princess Parrots or are they in a communal aviary? I'm thinking of putting my pair into a breeding cage to see what happens.

Hi John Have you separated your Princess Parrots or are they in a communal aviary? I'm thinking of putting my pair into a breeding cage to see what happens. My pair are in the budgie aviary Laraine but I was thinking of doing the same thing, trouble is the aviary they are in now is pretty big and I wouldn't like to put them into a smaller one. Just an update on the eggs they are all infertile, she is off them and they are all cold, I am starting to think that he just doesn't what to do, they constantly mate on the ground and she is very clucky, making that mating noise they make all the time I may get myself another mature proven pair and put them in the spare aviary I have, I am getting very disillusioned with my pair as this is the second time this has happened. On a brighter side my Red Rumps had laid 4 eggs and she was doing a great job of incubating them, well as of yesterday she had hatched 3 eggs and all 3 are Lutino hens, they are the best pair of breeding grass parrots I have ever had she is about 3 years old now but she keeps giving me babies and every clutch I get at least one Lutino hen, I am thinking I will get at least another clutch from this pair this season.

That's disappointing about the Princess eggs. I have the same problem with my yellow Turk. I have had him with 2 different hens the past 2 seasons. Lots of eggs but all infertile. Maybe a change of partners might be the answer. I have put him with another female, but they aren't interested yet. I have another pair of turks in a breeding cage, but no interest there as well. I don't think I'm destined to ever have Turk babies.
