Hi Everyone Could someone PLEASE help me. I know I read it on this site, but for the life of me, I have searched for hours now trying to find the thread about Max's Litter? Could someone tell me where it is?
OMG, I have nearly driven myself in sane (well more insane if possible) looking for it....
Thankyou in advanceeee!!

Not sure where it is but I think I was the one that initially posted about it, and I am a big fan of it. Max's Cat Litter, available at most supermarkets and some pet shops, is a cat litter made out of compressed rice husks, produced when white rice is produced. As such is is very safe if a bird happens to swallow some since it gets digested as roughage. I use it all the time when hand raising baby birds. I used to use paper towel but find the Max's much better since the babies get a better foothold in it, and it absorbs poos much better. I will put a phot at the end of this to show how I use it. In general with a clutch of 4 or 5 baby Quakers, I would change it at 2 or 3 day intervals when it starts to go powdery. Since Quakers tend to back up to the sides of the container to poo I will clean that area up after each feed, and top up a handful. We have used it for all sorts of parrots from budgies to macaws being hand raised. cheers, Mike Quaker babies with Max's Cat Litter Macaw babies with Max's Litter going powdery and ready to change

I use Max's litter also (I think I might have called it Maxi's litter though lol) it is in a green bag and I buy it from Woolworths when I go shopping. It is around 4 or 5 dollars for around 4 kg bag. It is great stuff and I have got another breeder onto it now too ;D aussiebirds.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=idea&action=display&thread=9755this is a link to a pic of Rikki (aka nudenut) and he is sleeping soundly on his max's litter ;D
