I have lost my male Superb Parrot in the Chipping Norton area. He is tame and talks. He hopped on my shoulder as I was stepping out of the aviary and escaped and hasn't been sighted since. Please either pm me or phone 9755 2829 if sighted. Thanks.
I have put signs everywhere in the area and will advertise in the local papers this week.

Laraine, I'm so sorry to hear this. I live a fair way from you, but if I see or hear anything I'll let you know.

So far I have advertised in our local paper and the one in the next area. Put signs around telegraph poles in the local area as well as in local shopping centres. I have also put an add in several online lost and found sites as well as contacting Wires and getting on their lost and found site. I don't think I am going to see him again. This weekend I am going to go further afield.

I'm so sorry to hear he hasn't returned yet. It still may happened. I've heard of birds being returned after several weeks lost.

I'm going out this weekend to put signs further afield. I originally only put them in my local area, but after 2 weeks he could have flown kms. I know a lot of people don't read the local papers.

I know a lot of people don't read the local papers. that's true. I usually don't read my local paper, but if I found a bird, I would definitely make a point of looking in it then, for the lost & found section. Good luck.

He just seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth. I don't know what else I can do. He's a really nice bird.

Isn't www.parrotalert.com meant to cross post noticed in all the forums? I was on another forum today & I saw some reports on lost Australian parrots that www.parrotalert.com put on the forum, but I didn't see anything here?

It is sad to say, but probably he is at someone's home right now. All you can hope for is that they find it in their heart to return your special man to you. For me, I just wouldn't keep "anyone's" - "anything" - it is just plan stealing! But there are a lot of people out in this world that would! I've still got my fingers crossed for you Laraine. And I am sending you love and hugs - 'cause I know you probably need it right now.

And I am sending you love and hugs - 'cause I know you probably need it right now. that is so true Ellen When my Butch escaped, a work colleague told me that it was up to the finder of a lost bird what they do with it. According to her, the finder is entitled to keep it if they want. I told her I thought that was stealing & she disagreed. That's what she did when she found a hand tame lorikeet. She went & bought a cage & kept it. Made no attempt to find the owner because she now has a free bird & that suits her just fine. I've never felt the same about that women since. BTW, I was lucky & got Butch back. He is the olive rainbow in my siggy. Hugs to you Larraine. I hope yours comes back to you soon.
