Far too adorable for words. You bred B&Gs? How I would love one, or a GW, or better still my dream bird an African Grey. Did you breed them? Any baby Greys pics?
I saw my first Grey in real life last Sunday at the AV. My vet was trying to convince it's owner that it's not safe for her to take the Grey for walks, unsecured, on her shoulder even if clipped. I don't think he convinced her. He didn't think he did either. I hope her bird stays safe. She loves him, paid $10K for him as a Bub from a breeder (so she told me) yet she is willing to risk this.
Sorry, I've waffled on your thread.
Those pictures are gorgeous. I love them. That bell picture is a real laugh. Couldn't have taken a cuter shot.

You must be having a lovely time looking through all the photographs. I am thoroughly enjoying every one of them! (Even though it takes almost 5 minutes to load a page with our crappy satellite service) But so worth the wait!

No we didn't breed the B&G's - the full story is in the members only section (so you need to log in) at aussiebirds.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=info&action=display&thread=8381Our staff member who did the feeding - and had been with us for near 15 years so knew all about hand feeding - had another 2 to feed this last summer, from the same breeder. Her only problem was she was pregnant, and had her baby (her first) in December when the birds were about 10 weeks old. She only missed 2 days feeding while actually in hospital giving birth - a true bird lover My Greys are yet to breed, but are now 5 and 4 years old so are getting up to breeding age. They will be getting a box this winter so fingers crossed. The only problem is they are kept a pets in the house and Greys don't have a good reputation for breeding when kept as pets. cheers, Mike

You know Mike, the more I see of your pics, the more I ask myself why people can be so cruel with birds or any animal for that matter. It is so obvious the love you have for your pets. They are just outstanding!

Sorry for the break in putting new pictures up - been busy with other things the last week. Back a few years ago we had a female King Parrot, Remy, who reached the age when she knew it was time to settle down and have a family. The only problem was her owners didn't appreciate she had reached that time in life and should have provided her with a suitable home to raise a family. So, being an enterprising girl she set out to find her own home. The place she chose is to be seen in the photo! Needless to say her owners quickly provided a more suitable place to raise a family and the resulting two babies are seen below. cheers, Mike

Something a bit different this time - two photos of baby Gouldian Finches we hand reared a few years ago - after the mother escaped. It was an interesting change from parrots, and they ended up very tame and friendly, but we didn't keep them and they eventually were sold into an aviary environment. cheers, Mike
