What did you feed them Ben? That was going to be my question. I know what the Dunnarts around here like to eat!

The 2 cockatiels have fledged yah, and the 3 baby bugies are coming along nicely, 2 of them are getting pin feathers. Another budgie is sitting on eggs.

Your little turk is going well, unfortunately the male I had with her died, but have another male I will put with her when I get around to it. She is happily in with the budgies and isn't getting plucked anymore. How are your Amazons coming along. I noticed you had some of your birds for sale on Petlink, how did that go?

Shaun, I finally put a yellow male turk in with the little one this morning so she will have someone to talk to of her own species. At last look they were sitting together.

Great to hear Laraine Hopefully they will breed for you. The amazons are going great. They are such characters, a pleasure to have in the aviary. I did try and sell some birds. I had no luck selling any of them. I have decided to sell the breeding quakers and possibly a few others to help fund another purchase which is under way. I was also thinking of selling the moustache parrots aswell, but the hen is in the nest now. Shaun

It seems hard to sell at the moment, I have been trying to sell baby budgies and cockatiels with no luck. I get enquiries but they aren't the right age/colours/location. Are you keeping your Eclectus's?

I have advertised a young pair of eccys half heartedly, but didnt have any enquiries anyway. I put alot of it down to my location. I dont really want to sell anything, but have to raise a bit of money at the moment.

well you know shaun if you run out of room you can always send some eccies over here haha i wish anyway, i cant afford them really, we have been selling a few birds off also. Luckily most of them were sold to one buyer and the few left over arent in any hurry to go anywhere anyway. Now im full time back studying and only working a few nights a week at a clinic im not able to afford to buy more babies for a while, atleast until next breeding seaon... oh and not to mention the birds who come into the clinic to be euth'd they come home too...

yes I have had trouble selling my female eclectus who is only 6 months old now. I put it down to me saying she is bitey in the ads but I have to be honest as I don't want someone to buy her and then say I didn't say she was bitey. Anyway I have put her back into the spare aviary as Erik was becomeing quite naughty with her inside and now he is back to normal.......well normal for him lol ;D Anyway I will advertise her again in a couple of months and advertise her as an aviary bird. I did eventually sell both her clutch brothers but have had no enquiries about Mikey......oh yes I had one enquiry but his hen is a Vos and I suggested it better if he got a Vos male. He is only a young kid around 13 or 14 and didn't realise there were different subspecies. Oh and I know she is a Vos because I have seen her in his grandfathers shop where he works after school ;D

People may be more interested in her as she gets a bit older too Tracey, seems there are always a few people always looking for older females and males to pair with existing birds.
An idea that came to me just then...Mabye you could swap one of your boys from a subsequent clutch for an unrelated younger male and pair it with your girl and offer them as a pair, as they are young still i wouldnt imagine people wanting them for the wrong reasons would buy as theyd have to wait 4 or five years before they could breed them.

Blue and golds are expensive in australia arent they, they have been over bred in the uk and now end up in parrot rescues.

You can pay about $6,000 plus in Australia, it's hard to imagine over here finding them as rescues.

Its very very late, Macaws had a pretty bad year in the Darling Downs, but we have had a stellar year! Macaws breeding in March, and i have just had a cattle egret hatch out, its going to be a crazy year!

Yesterday I found an egg shell in my backyard from a Dove, thought they were a bit late too. The trouble is I can't find the nest, there are some dense trees eg. Lillypilli and Bottlebrush so can't see.
