I guess a lot of you have eggs & chicks in the nest or are hand rearing babies. I have otherwise been occupied with my hubby's health lately & haven't been on much. Am just catching up the last few days.
I did already post somewhere else what i have at the present time.
See Tracey has 3 baby eckies congrats. & Shaun how's things going with you?
Good luck everyone.
Robyn.

Not much is really happening at my place at the moment. My Red Rumps are playing games again....laying eggs, sitting on them and then going off them. I had 2 cute quails hatch, but they both died. One Cockatiel has hatched. One budgie is sitting on something??
I'm getting my new aviary put up on Saturday and am moving some into that, so that's exciting. Maybe the birds I put in their will breed.......
I hope your hubby is feeling better.

I am having a bit of a rough start Robyn. I think the weather may have played a part in the last week. I have a cock eclectus being handraised at about 50 days old, original eccies on eggs, slatey head chicks and moustache laying. I did have fertile plumhead eggs, but unfortunatley she died in the nest others working boxes and displaying etc include pairs of suns, nandays, eclectus and quakers. I missed your post about what you have, but will have to find it and have a look. It has been a depressing week with everything in general. I hope all is going well with your husband. Shaun

Fairly quiet for me. We finished hand rearing our first two ringnecks last week, as well as a sun conure and some cockatiels, and currently have 7 Alex's being fed. Two more nests of ringnecks coming along - one with 4 eggs and one with 6 eggs. We don't breed much these days, especially since we have joined up 4 of our flights to make a large "retirement" aviary for the various birds that come into us at the shop that are basically unsellable through one problem or another - bad pluckers, missing a foot, just too old etc. Currently have a mix of doves, budgies, cockatiels (about 15 of them), a pair of Princesses, miscellaneous finches, a canary and a pair of African Masked Doves (my favourite dove) that were brought home to breed but have proved singularly unsuccessful with every egg infertile cheers, Mike

Bugger, Shaun can't find it myself. Think i may be loosing it.
OK hear we go again. Have pulled 2 sunnies yesterday, left them a bit older than usual. Will see how they go. Got another nice little pied as well. They had 3 chicks but lost one in the nest. 2 eckie chicks, will take them next week. Still have Gypsy's 2 girls on 3 feeds a day. Green Cheeks are hatching chicks at the moment, she had 6 eggs so will wait & see what i will get. Last time i kept disturbing her & only ended up with 2 chicks. I'll leave her be this time. And the best news of all is my friend Bob's Crimson Bellied Conures are sitting on fertile eggs, due to hatch in about 2 weeks. I can't wait. As i have mentioned Bob paid big money for them and then the price started to fall fast. At least he knows now that he actually has a breeding pair.
If my Amazons & Majors breed for me that would be great but i won't hold my breath. In the mean time i will just enjoy what i have got.
Mike sounds like you have your hands full for the moment.
My Hubby is doing OK. We have an appointment with the hospital surgeon on the 12th Oct. We will get the results of the last tests then. So far things are looking brighter that first thought.
Robyn.

Tracey thank god, some times have to wonder about myself That's great Lewis. You have to start somewhere. Cockatiels were my first birds to breed & hand rear. Also tried my hand at lovebirds & budgies as well. Now day's i am into the bigger parrots. I do get a lot of enjoyment out of bird keeping. Robyn.

Can't wait get back next week (for good). Looking forword to looking in the ringnecks as I never know what color babies to expect. As of this morning 3 little fluffy tiels. My tiels have the habit of going off the nest when the babies get to about 3 weeks so fingers crossed.
